See You Again song Update

Hey Everyone!

I have previously written a post about the song, "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth and I thought maybe I would update it.

Click here for the previous post (highly recommended) where I wrote about the meaning behind the song, where it stands on the Billboard's Hot 100 and most watched YouTube video lists, and what it would take to take it to the top.

So as I'm sure all of you know "See You Again" was the biggest song of 2015 summer and it basically launched Charlie Puth's now amazing career. Album out now!

Well, I thought I would update the numbers (from the last post to now) to see what it would take to get the video and song to the #1 spot on the most watched YouTube video's list.

At the moment of me writing this post, the music video has about 1.40 billion views and still stands #3 on the list behind Taylor Swift's "Blank of Space" and Psy's "Gangnam Style" but is getting closer and closer in the numbers.

Here's how the list looks with the current numbers that I see:
#1: Gangnam Style by Psy - 2,508,133,944
#2: Blank Space by Taylor Swift - 1,433,539,152
#3: See You Again by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth - 1,403,658,279

Now, you will see that "See You Again" is 30 million behind #2 which is less than what it was when I first wrote about the song a few weeks ago. The video also received about 100 million since my last post which was less than a month ago.

If the video continues getting 3 million views a day, at the moment it will reach 2 billion views in about 202 days. It'll take about 3.09 million views a day for it to take over the #1 spot in about 357 days.

Again, you're probably wondering: Why does CGoerlich (wiki-wheelz) care so much?? I care because as you remember from reading my other post because the song has meaning. Meaning for everyone who has ever lost a loved one.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the #1 & #2 songs. Believe me. I'm a HUGE Taylor Swift fan but I feel that "See You Again" deserves to be at the top especially since they lost out the Golden Globe and weren't nominated for an Oscar.

So, if you want to help "See You Again" reach #1 on the most watched YouTube video's list, then go watch the video here. Watch it multiple times a day. Share it. Get your friends to start watching it again. A song with this type of meaning behind it deserves all the recognition it should have.

By the way, it's still top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 list which I have to say is very good for a soundtrack song. Keep it up, fans!

Gilmore Girls is Back!

Hey Everyone!

So, I'm sure you all have found out the great news! Back in October 2015, there were rumors that Netflix would be reviving the favorite show, Gilmore Girls but nothing has been confirmed until now (January 29th to be exact)!

Here is the confirmation tweet that Lauren Graham (a.k.a. Lorelai Gilmore) sent out yesterday:

How exciting right?! But exactly what does that mean? What are we going to see on the show? No one knows. Not even Lauren Graham as she sent out this video on the People website (and they got it from Logo TV):

Get More: Logo TV

So back when the rumors started, it was said that there would be four 90-minute episodes and the episodes would be of the four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and autumn (fall).

Other than those rumors, we don't know what else to expect with the story-line like are Luke and Lorelai still together (are they married)? who is Rory dating (is she dating)? and where is she with her journalism career? How are Lane and Zack? How are the twins? and since Edward Herrmann passed away, are we going to see a funeral for Richard Gilmore (Grandpa)? and how is Emily dealing with the loss? Also, are we going to see Luke's daughter, April?

And there are so many more questions needed answers to, as well other beloved characters we would love to see (Miss Patti, Babette, Sookie, Jackson, Michel, Taylor, Paris, Kirk, Mrs. Kim, Christopher, Gypsy, Brian, and of course the three guys who had Rory's heart at one point: Dean, Jess, Logan).

All we know right now is that Gilmore Girls is coming back! and so far the people who have signed on to make a return are: Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore), Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore), Scott Patterson (Luke Danes), Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Sean Gunn (Kirk), and Keiko Agena (Lane).

Now, I have to say as a huge Gilmore Girls fan, I'm hoping that everyone who I have named above will make an appearance because it wouldn't be the same without them. Especially Sookie. I mean, we need Sookie and Lorelai together. But will Melissa McCarthy do it? Who knows? I hope so.

I feel that they will do the show justice as the original creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino are to make a return for this by writing, directing, and producing.

If you haven't watched ever before, I highly recommend to do so! and if you haven't watched it in awhile, I recommend to rewatch all the beloved episodes so that you are prepared for the upcoming revival of Gilmore Girls. (We're going to get an ending that we all had hoped for, even though I didn't necessarily have anything bad to say to the ending - just wanted more!)

Feel free to comments below to what you think and what you're looking forward to. Also, what would you like to see in the upcoming revival?

Until Next Time

Handwriting or Typing?

Hey Everyone!

I have learned many different things when it comes to writing and one of those things is there is definitely a difference between handwriting and typing.

You're probably wondering: really, what's the difference? It's both writing out words with punctuation (or without) using two different types of ways. But I'm going to tell you yes, they may sound similar but again, it's different and you can do both!

First, exactly what is handwriting and typing?
Handwriting is well, writing with your hand (mouth, foot, [in case the write is an amputee]) using a pen, pencil, etc.
Typing is using a keyboard whether it's on a computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.

Now, I have used both ways and I've learned that they're both special and useful in their own ways.

Handwriting may seem like it could take time and effort (and you may not have the best handwriting so you don't understand what you have writing down) but the pen or pencil has a lot of power in it.

Putting pen to paper, you feel the pen against the paper. And to me, I have felt (connection) more with the characters when I write them down using a pen. You (I) feel the emotion that characters feel or even just the words that are written down. It's like all the energy in your body is coming through the pen and the words just come out of you.

Typing is great as well. It's quicker. It may seem easier. Especially with today's technology where if you don't have a computer around you, all you have to do is grab your phone, open a writing app and then just type away. Your ideas are fluidly coming out quicker and it seems to be easier to type it out and not as "painful".

I've found it is easier to type than to hand-write, however, I do feel more connected with my writing when I'm handwriting it out but I type more often because to me, it's easier and more convenient (especially since I'm not carrying around a notebook all the time even thought I really should and did for my Senior Writing Seminar class).

But when it comes to time to starting out a novel or an idea, I sometimes write it out on paper first and then transfer it to the paper. So I'm using both ways which, to me, betters my idea and writing. So, I would suggest you to try that way as well and see how it works out for you.

For the next week, I would suggest all of my readers out there to try out both ways. Grab a notebook and write something that means something to you. And then write the same thing (without copying) by typing. Which one did you feel more connected with? Which one will you continue using?

So for all my fellow writers out there - what do you prefer to do? Handwriting or Typing? Both? If you enjoy doing both, how do you choose when to do each?

I also recommend this "Handing vs. Typing..." article for more information on the conversation about handwriting and typing.

Dear Aveeno... (regarding anti dandruff shampoo)

Hey Everyone!

So for years, I have been searching for the right (perfect) shampoo product for my hair as I have dandruff (small pieces of dead skin). I have found shampoo that works but it won't work repeatedly (the dandruff would go away but I would have to change shampoos every once in awhile).

Now, last year I finally found the shampoo that always works and keeps my hair even cleaner than the other shampoos and that was the Aveeno Nourish-Dandruff Control (anti dandruff) Shampoo. But there was a problem - it's a hard shampoo to find at stores (as they weren't in most stores).

But once we did find a place where I can find the shampoo, it's now no longer available (not even on the Aveeno website) which means it has been discontinued. I would like to know why it has been discontinued. It was the one product that worked best for me as well as others.

I love Aveeno and all their products that I use (daily moisturizer, clear complexion face wash & moisturizer, and body wash) so to see that I'm unable to use their shampoo because it's no longer around is disappointing. I mean yeah I can probably use one of their other shampoos but I don't know how they would work.

I know, I'm not the only one who feels like this about Aveeno's anti dandruff shampoo. I remember prior to them taking it off the website, the were many reviews asking for Aveeno to sell the anti dandruff product in other stores since it's a hard product to find and it's one of the only ones that works as well as it does for them.

So I'm writing this to ask Aveeno to bring the anti dandruff back. Is there another product that they have created that is better than the one they had (is this why they took it off the market)? I think we, the customers deserve an answer as to why a product was taken off the market when it was working for 90% of the reviewers (that I saw at least).

If you have used the Aveeno anti dandruff shampoo, please comment below what you thought about the product. Would you buy it again if they put it back on the market? Where were you able to buy it when it was on the market? Do you think more people would buy it if it was easier to get?

Have Many Ideas?

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend and if you're on the East Coast (as I am), I hope you're doing ok with all that snow we got! My town in New Jersey received about 27 inches. Crazy! Roads are still full of snow everywhere so it's just a mess out there. Besides the mess, my dog DJ loves the snow! Check out pictures on my instagram (link is on the right side) from the aftermath.

So while I'm sitting here on the computer, I thought hmm I wonder what people (writers) do when they have too many ideas on what to write at once? Especially since writers probably get a lot of ideas when they're unable to leave the house and do a lot of writing! I know I do.

At one point when I used to write YouTube & Fanfiction stories, my mind was full of different ideas. I remember at one moment, I had about five ideas going on at once. And even after I've finished writing on YouTube and Fanfiction those ideas turned into novel & scripts ideas. There's so much that I can write.

So how do you or should I say I decide to write with so many ideas??

Well, I have heard that there are many writers who, if they have a new idea to write about, have to write down immediately the new idea down. For me, ideas don't ever leave my thoughts until I have it completely finished. So what do I do when there's multiple ideas for multiple projects?

Here are the steps of what I do (and you can follow along or create your own steps):

1) Make a list of the multiple projects.
2) Create a bulleted list under each project about the different ideas I have for that specific project.
3) Look over the lists.
4) Which one has more bullet points?
5) Pick that one to focus on right now.
6) If I get stuck on that project, I look at my other project ideas.
7) If you're a great multitasker, you can work on multiple projects at one time (but remember your mind will be going back and forth repeatedly; as well might confuse one project over the other).

There are other steps that you can follow. But it's always good to write down every single idea you have in your mind. Because once you do pick one project over another, there is a chance you may forget the ideas you had for the other project (unlike me when it's all in my head at once).

So basically the most important thing for you to do (when you have many ideas) - WRITE THEM DOWN.

What do you do when you have so many ideas?? Comment below!

Until Next Time

Oscars' Controversy From a Person with a Disability's Point of View

Hey Everyone!

So as most of you know, there is a controversy surrounding the popular awards show, the Academy Awards also known as the Oscars.

If you don't know the exact controversy. It is the fact that most (all) nominees are white which leads to the controversy of there not being enough diversity in the awards. #OscarsSoWhite was one of the top trends on Twitter for a couple days after the Oscars' nominees were announced.

Now, before I go into my own thoughts about this controversy - I just want you to know that I know that there is still a racial and diversity problem in the country. But to me there's more to it then race.

My first question to all the non-nominees: Do you really want to be nominated based on your race? Or based on your talent?

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Will Smith was great in Concussion and I'm sure Straight Outta Compton was a great movie but maybe the other actors/actresses were slightly better? which would leave them to be nominated.

I mean there are only five nominees right in each category? Not everyone can be nominated. But, there is a point that I see from the other side. There should still be more of a diverse list of nominees.

But can we discuss that word: Diversity. What exactly is diversity? It means a "range of different things" which in this case would be a range of different types of people depending on: race, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc.

Disability is a part of diversity but people are not complaining that there isn't any representation of people with disabilities at the Oscars or the film industry (or any industry, really). Nope. Not at all. You can find more about Including Disability in one of my previous posts.

I have a question for those who are complaining about the lack of diversity in award shows. You are speaking of race right? You're saying that there isn't any representation of Black in the nominees right? And you're right. There isn't. But I don't see anyone standing up for people with disabilities.

Which I find funny because I think the group, People with Disabilities, have more to complain about. (Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm pro-diversity which includes the racial issues but this subject of disability is important to me and 49 million others).

Now you're probably thinking: "What? What do you mean People with Disabilities have more to complain about?" Well I'm going to answer that question for you.

Let me ask you this: Can you name an actor or actress who has a disability? Have you seen someone with a disability in a show or movie? If so, are they really a person with a disability?

I'll answer some of these questions. There's a 90% chance that the person you see is not a person with a disability (especially in the big time shows or movies). Switched at Birth is one of the shows that indeed definitely has real people with disabilities in it.

The guy in Glee (sorry didn't watch Glee so I don't know his name) is not really a wheelchair user and we all know Drake from Degrassi isn't really a wheelchair user but they use these "fake" disabled people. Why? I don't know. To make it work with the story-line? I know most shows/movies include the story-line of: person to have been injured which would leave them into a wheelchair

But don't you think with today's technology, they can do something about that?

And let me tell you one thing, there is zero (less than 1%) representation of people with disabilities in the big name award shows (Golden Globes, Oscars, Grammy's, etc.).

There are so many people with disabilities who are singers, actors/actresses, writers, etc. but they don't get the opportunities to be in the "spotlight" because of the story-line. So I'm asking you this right now, how is that helping the conversation of diversity?

Again, those who are complaining about not having the chance to win an award to acknowledge that they're great at what they do. We know that you're great at what you do. We see it. We see you on the big and small screens. We hear you on the radio. We see you on the stage.

But what we don't see is the group of people who want to be on the small and big screens, radio, etc. because there isn't a "necessity" (since we can 'make' someone disabled by using technology to make an abled actor into a disabled actor).

You're fighting over an award while you should be honored to get to do what you love to do while there are many who don't get to do what they love.

So please remember when you're debating with yourself whether to boycott the Oscars (or any other awards show) or not, that you're getting the opportunity to do what you love (acting, filming, directing, etc.) when there are thousands to millions of those who don't get that opportunity or even to be considered.

Again, there are more parts of Diversity than race, gender, age, sexual orientation and I wish in today's world, people would remember that.

Do I think boycotting the Oscars could help? Maybe.
Do I think the conversation of getting more Black nominees will help all diversity? Maybe.

But it won't if again the word disability is not used in conversations.

By the way, don't criticize those who are nominated or those who decide to go to the Oscars because who knows, it might be the only time they do get nominated (while you may have a chance).

I'll leave you with this - if you're only going to include one group when discussing diversity, then you're not being diversed either. It all starts with you.

(Remember, I know there's still a racial problem but remember diversity is more than one group)

Leave your thoughts below!

Until Next Time

John Scott Update

Hey Everyone!

This is just a quick post. I wanted to update you all on the news about John Scott. If you remember, John Scott was voted in by the fans to be Captain of the Pacific Division for the NHL All-Star team but he was traded and was ineligible to participate. Click here for more information.

Well anyways today NHL announced that they will allow John Scott to participate in the game! Great job everyone for telling the NHL that you want him to participate. Click here for the NHL announcement.

It seemed the NHL listened to their fans which they should've done from the beginning but anyways it has worked out for NHL, the fans, and John Scott himself.

I thought I would just update you all on the great news.

Include Disability!

Hey Everyone!

Ok so lately there's been a lot of talk about diversity (especially with the Oscars controversy and presidential elections) and there's something that has been bothering me in these different talks. I have not yet heard the word "disability" in these talks.

Diversity and discrimination include the following types: age, disability, equal pay, gender, pregnancy, race, religion, sexual orientation and more.

But the main ones that are discussed in the media or anywhere really are age, race, gender, and sexual orientation which I'm in supportive of but if you're going to include groups of people then you discuss all groups which include the group of people with disabilities.

Did you know that people with disabilities make up 20% of the United States' population? That means that 1 every 5 people may have a disability of some sort whether it's mental or physical.

So why is the disability group the last to be mentioned or not even not mentioned? Especially when we're in the middle of an election year leading to a new president? Shouldn't discussing what they're going to do to help people with disabilities be a topic (like employment, schools, etc.)?

Is this too much to ask? No. Not at all. After all like I said 20% of the population which is about 49 million people. That's a lot of people that aren't being spoken for or about in the mainstream media.

There needs to be more discussion about disability. About awareness towards disability. How to make inclusion better between the disabled and the abled. Sports are very important towards awareness for people with disabilities but there still needs more awareness to be done!

By the way, where are the actors who have a disability? Ok, yes there are actors who have disabilities but aren't seen as much as others. Also what's with disabled characters being portrayed by abled actors? Ok I understand that the story-line may have the person injured or something which leads them to be disabled but we need more disabled actors/actresses.

Ok that's another story for another time. But it's still relevant to this case. Anyways, back to the problem - INCLUDE the word "DISABILITY" in the discussions about working with people and diversity.

"...based on religion, or race, or gender, or LGBT, or whatever else it might be." - Presidential Candidate, Hillary Clinton (on the Ellen Show discussing loving one another)
"In 2016, the mandate is inclusion of its facets: gender, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation." - Academy President, Cheryl Boon Isaacs (in her statement about the Oscars controversy)

Don't even get me started on Donald Trump and his mocking of the news reporter who has a disability.

Can't you see the problem here? Disability is never brought up in the group of words that people say when speaking of diversity. You can't leave out one group of people when discussing diversity because then you're not really being diverse.

Don't be afraid to say disability. Don't be afraid to bring it up in conversations. Don't be afraid to "stand up" for your own group of people. There needs to be a discussion about disabilities and what we can do to bring awareness to the group.

This leads me to January 20th (may write another post about this) which is International Day of Acceptance. It's time that we all come together and celebrate accepting of people with disabilities.

We are in a different and better position then we were 10 years ago but there's still a lot that needs to be done and spoken about.

Include disability in history books. Include disability in your discussions. Include disability when speaking about the other types of groups of people. Include disability in your political campaign (and continue including it after campaign is over). Include disability wherever you can. It's time that we do this. If we have one person start, it will lead to more speaking about it.

By the way you can help spread disability awareness by speaking about it, sharing posts about it, and also placing the wheelchair emoji to your display name on Twitter.
New Wheelchair Emoji (there are
different ones depending on your
phone, computer, tablet, etc.)
Remember, if you want there to be a change and more diversity (including ALL groups of people) to happen then YOU need to take part in that change.

Until Next Time

High School Musical 10 Year Anniversary

Hey Everyone!

I remember 10 years ago, I saw the commercial for a new Disney Channel Original Movie and was getting very excited! I have been a fan of Disney Channel for as long as I could remember and their movies were some of my very favorite. So I was always excited when I new one was coming out. But little did I know was that this movie was going to become basically one of the biggest movies in the world. Really, I don't think anyone knew.

What movie was that? High School Musical.

High School Musical poster
Credit: Disney
High School Musical premiered on Disney Channel on January 20, 2006. The movie is about high school students learning about not sticking to the status quo and being able to doing different things. This comes after the two main characters Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez meet in a Ski Lodge and sing karaoke together on New Year's Eve.

Characters:

Troy Bolton - Zac Efron
Gabriella Montez - Vanessa Hudgens
Sharpay Evans - Ashley Tisdale
Ryan Evans - Lucas Grabeel
Taylor McKessie - Monique Coleman
Chad Danforth - Corbin Bleu
Coach Jack Bolton - Bart Johnson
Ms. Darbus - Alyson Reed
Zeke Baylor - Chris Warren Jr.
Kelsi Nielsen - Olesya Rulin
Jason Cross - Ryne Sanborn
Martha Cox - KayCee Stroh
MORE

The characters and actors weren't the only important part of the film but it was the Director and Choreographers that pulled everything together. Kenny Ortega, director and choreographer, with choreographers Bonnie Story and Charles (aka Chucky) Klapow took the story and ran with it creating the great movie we know today.

Again, I remember being so excited about the new DCOM but I had no idea how great the movie was going to be and it was! The music, the themes, the acting - it all came together and worked.

January 19th is my Mom's birthday so we went out to dinner to celebrate her birthday and I just remember talking about the new DCOM premiering the next night. My Dad was also excited as he's one who also enjoys Disney Channel's movies as well. So we had planned to watch High School Musical together.

I also had to record the movie because my best friend was going to be away for the weekend and she wanted to watch it. Recording it was either a great thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Because after watching High School Musical the first time, my Dad and I became obsessed. So obsessed that every day after I come home from school, we watched it.

Like literally every day, we watched it. Kept it on our DVR even after my best friend watched it. The one sad part about it was because of the long commercials with the cast, the DVR didn't get the whole movie so for about a few weeks, we were always cut off near the ending and I can still remember Troy and Gabriella coming together to continue "We're All in this Together" and that would cut off right there. I still wait for it to stop there when I watch the movie now.

And I know that we weren't the only ones that found the movie so mesmerizing to watch it so many times. I remember going to school and all my friends talking about it. At lunch time, at my table we would talk excitedly about High School Musical and also spelling out the "Go Drama Club" and exclamation point moment at our table.

"Go Drama Club" scene

High School Musical made a difference in the fans' lives due to the messages that the film gives off: be yourself, don't be afraid of trying different things, love yourself, and more. I believe my town and schools were already good with letting us doing different things but I know how much it may have helped other schools across not only the United States but across the world.

High School Musical played a major role in lots of people's lives including my own. I was a huge fan. I created a Myspace fan site, I also made a YouTube channel, and then it lead to me writing Fanfiction stories for the movie. It's given me opportunity to better my writing and getting to know fans from across the country/world. Connections were made.

It continued getting better as they made the record-breaking sequel and then the third movie which was in the theaters on the big screen (I have to admit, I went to see it FOUR times in the theaters).

When I think about how this little DCOM made it into a phenomenon, I ask myself the same question I'm sure the cast asks themselves: Why? Why did it become as big as it did?

Well, of course the cast says the fans help but we have to give a lot of credit to the cast, director, choreographers, and crew because they are the main reason why it was as successful as it was. To me, the best part of the films was that it seemed it was never forced. The "break out to songs" always seemed natural and it was because it was fun to do.

The cast and crew always seemed to have fun filming as seen on the behind the scenes. If we see the cast having fun, then we the fans are going to have fun as well.

So I want to take time to thank the cast and crew for making a fun, enjoyable, and relatable movie because without High School Musical, I'm not sure what a lot of people would be doing or if we even have some of the other shows/movies that we have now.

There's just so much more I can say about the movie but I'm not sure I would be able to put it all in words because the High School Musical franchise was just more and it all started with one movie, High School Musical.

Happy 10 Year Anniversary, High School Musical.

Make sure you tune in to Disney Channel on Wednesday, January 20th to celebrate the anniversary as the cast of the movie came together for a special.

Credit: High School Musical and Disney

Again, thank you High School Musical cast and crew for all of our childhood and even adulthood (yes of course I still watch it - who doesn't?).

Until Next Time

John Scott > NHL

Hey Everyone!

Recently, there has been controversy with the National Hockey League (NHL) and the 2016 All-Star game.

The NHL decided to have a fan vote to name Captains of each division (Atlantic, Metropolitan, Central, Pacific) so that fans can get an opportunity to give their ideas on who should be in the All-Star game and be the captains.

So the winners of the vote are as followed:
Atlantic Division - Jaromir Jagr of the Florida Panthers
Metropolitan Division - Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals
Central Division - Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks
Pacific Division - John Scott of the Arizona Coyotes (at the time of voting)

At the time of voting? What does that mean? I'm going to get to that. So as you see, there are four names that are listed which is corrected but apparently only three of them deserve it. Jagr, Ovechkin, and Kane are the three that deserve it. I mean, yes I agree they do and I'll admit I didn't necessarily know who John Scott was when they named him but he's deserving too.

Well there were a lot of people who didn't believe it. So it became a funny thing. Like people were making jokes about him being in it. Making memes. There were other things as well so it was kind of becoming like a mockery or however you would like to call it.

But apparently even at the beginning of the votes when John Scott was in the lead that he didn't want to be in the All-Star so to stop voting or whatever but fans didn't listen and continued voting. (Jagr did the same thing but of course, fans weren't going to listen to him.) But anyways, even though he didn't necessarily want to be in it - he started coming around to the though of it especially when his family started telling him that he has to do it. That it'll be fun.

But there's just one problem. He can't take part in it anymore. Why? Because the Coyotes traded him away to Montreal Canadiens and they sent him down to the AHL (minor league for hockey) making him illegible to participate.

This created an uproar!

Most of the fans and writers of NHL has come together because it's not right even if he originally shouldn't have been voted in (he wasn't that great) but that shouldn't have mattered. He was voted in. He should be able to play.

And he or the fans had no say in whether he should take part in the game or not.

If that's the case, then why was there a fan vote in the first place?? If you're not going to let the players that were voted in to play. If you don't like how the fan vote came out then change it next year and don't give us one. Don't ruin a guy's one chance to take part in something that he may not get a chance to do again.

This is a sad time for the NHL and it's not great for the league. I already heard that there are a lot of people who are not going to watch the game because of this because they support John Scott and the fan voting. There are many writers who support John Scott and are asking the NHL change the mistake they made because that's what it was. A mistake.

As you can tell by the title of this, I am also in support of John Scott because it's only right that he gets a chance to take part in this. For his career. For his family.

If you support John Scott and want to tell the NHL that they are wrong and they need to let him play the game, you can go SIGN THE PETITION that someone made up. It already has more than 4,000 signatures. Let's keep it going and see if NHL listens to its fans. (There's also a #FreeJohnScott campaign on Twitter than you can take part of as well.)

What do you think of this controversy? Do you think John Scott should play in the All-Star Game? Are you going to watch the game whether he's in or not?

Old Navy Update

Hey Everyone!

So today I decided to take a trip to Livingston Mall and while there, I went to Old Navy to see if there were any changes made with the fitting rooms from the last time I was there. Now, the last time I visited this Old Navy, there were a few issues with their fitting rooms considering accessibility. You can see that experience here.

As you see when you read my last post about Old Navy, they replied on Twitter saying that they would share the feedback with the store's leaders so I wanted to see if there was anything done. I am glad to say that there were a couple positive changes.

Positive changes:

The accessibility fitting room is clear of anything in the way. So as you see there is no rack of clothes blocking the door and on the inside of the room, there are no clothes and it wasn't locked. That means I was able to go in to try on some clothes.

So this store is definitely heading in the direction, HOWEVER, there were still things that could've been brought up and here I am, bringing them up here.

Even though, the room was clear of clothes and it was unlocked. There was someone inside to try on clothes and yes, I waited because that's the right thing to do. Right? I understand that there are others who need to try on the clothes and I expected this person either to have a disability or stroller, needing the room but nope, it was someone who probably could've used the other room.

I'm not completely blaming the person because there were racks of clothes blocking a few of the regular fitting rooms (I took a picture but it wasn't that clear). Makes you wonder where those racks of clothes would've been if I didn't complain. Probably right back in the accessible fitting room.

So anyways I also found out that the other accessible room was unlocked BUT it was full of clothes. I mean, really?? Can't you put these clothes somewhere else? In other stores, the racks where the customers put clothes they don't want, are on the outside of the fitting rooms, not inside the rooms or blocking the doorways. It's not accessible for people in chairs or even those who can walk.

Also what if there were more than one person in a wheelchair that needed to use a fitting room?? It does happen, you know? More than one person in a wheelchair at the same store at the same time. I know, it's shocking really (sarcasm). Both accessible rooms need to be clear and accessible for those who NEED to use them. I would never be able to use the other rooms, especially the ones at Old Navy (Don't get me wrong. I love Old Navy just the things need to be discussed.)

Another thing that I complained about in the fitting rooms was the placement of the mirror. Where they have the mirror in every accessible fitting room in their stores are not very useful for someone who is in a wheelchair. I mean, just look at this picture that my mom took of me in the one I was in today.

I can't even turn to look at the whole outfit. I'm only able to see really what it looks like on half of my body and I have a regular sized wheelchair. How about someone who has a bigger chair? Or even a power chair? There would be no way they can honestly see what they look like in the clothes.

You call these the accessibility fitting rooms when they are anything but accessible.

Now, I did do some more shopping after I left Old Navy (with three new shirts). I went to a few different stores and then ended up at the Gap. I wanted to try a shirt on and I have to say that their fittings rooms are a lot better and more accessible. Here's a picture of me in that one:

I'm able to turn around (probably even do a 360), look at myself in the mirror, and there's a bar in the right spot if I want to transfer to the bench. I also looked into the regular fitting rooms and I have to say, I even would be able to fit in those comfortably if I had to.

As you can see, there's a difference between the two stores' fitting rooms and one was better overall than the other.

So what I'm asking is to Old Navy, please take in consideration of all your customers and the needs of many of them. There needs to be a better system for the fitting room situation. The Livingston Mall's store isn't the only one that has a fitting room problem so again, I'm asking for you to look into detail on how you can better your store.

Thank you.

Let me know what you all think and feel free to comment and share this post! We need to have this discussion with all stores and have all people have the ability to enjoy the fun of shopping.

Have Any Suggestions?

Hey Everyone!

So I am writing this post to ask you, my readers for some suggestions. I have a list of possibility posts that I can write for this blog (which I will get to) but I want to hear from YOU.

What would you like to read from Wiki-Wheelz?
Has there been anything that you think should've been written about?
Are there any sports situations that you believe should be discussed?
Is there anything about writing that you would like to know?

I am asking for any type of suggestions. I want  you to feel that you can relate to what I'm writing on here. I might do one of these posts time to time so that I know you're involved.

I like to be conversational as you may tell how I write in my posts and that also goes for hearing from my readers. If you have any suggestions - you can comment below, tweet me, or message me on Facebook.

Song(s) of the Week - Week Four - Irresistible and It's Gonna Be Me

Hey Everyone!

It's that time once again for another song of the week! So this week, I'm not really going to go into great detail about the song itself as I've honestly only listened it to a few times but other than that, the music video for the song is AWESOME!

Now you're probably like "alright already, what's the song??" Well the song name is in the title but I'll tell you anyways and the song is "Irresistible". Now for this song - there are two different versions of this particular song but the one that this post is about the one where it's Fall Out Boy featuring Demi Lovato. I'm also going to mention another song, Nsync's song "It's Gonna Be Me."

My one comment about the song itself is that I think it was well done adding Demi into the song (it is a remix of the original song that came out last year). I saw that there were many comments under the video that they didn't like them remixing the song or adding Demi to it because they felt that the voices didn't fit - well I think it did work well together.

Now, let's talk about what I'm writing this post really about. The music video! When Lance Bass (of Nsync) shared the video on his social media accounts about the new Fall Out Boy featuring Demi Lovato video which is a parody of one Nsync's memorable music video for "It's Gonna Be Me." "It's Gonna Be Me" was about Nsync as dolls and there's a girl walking around the store and they want her to pick one of them (doll) to take home.

Here's the video for "It's Gonna Be Me"

Now the big question that Fall Out Boy and Demi Lovato brought out for their video was: what about the other toys? The toys that are not Nsync. So they decided to create a parody video to theirs which shows exactly what happened to the toys that no one really wants - Fall Out Boy dolls. There's a better description of the video underneath it's video so go check that out.

Anyways, what's so great about this was they used Nsync's video to do a parody for and what could be better than to actually have some members in their video? Well that's what they did! Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, both part of Nsync, made cameos in the video.

Chris was the guy who worked on the toy line with Demi and is excited about the Nsync dolls even though Demi didn't seem thrilled until the Fall Out Boy dolls came out. Joey played the role of toy store worker who didn't seem thrilled about the Fall Out Boys dolls so he tosses them into a bucket where the toys no one wants go and then he's excited when he sees the Nsync dolls come out.

I think this video is hilarious and all Nsync fans will appreciate it as well so check it out.

So what did you think of the video? Awesome right? I think it's great when artists appreciate other artists' works and does something with it. I loved it the moment Lance Bass posted it and I still love it now. I can probably watch it so many times and I'm sure you might as well (at least if you're an Nsync fan!)

Let me know what you think of this weeks Song(s) of the Week and what you thought of both videos.

Until Next Time

#Twitter10k

Hey Everyone!

So every morning when I turn my laptop on, I go right on Facebook and Twitter. When I get on Twitter, the first thing I normally do is looking at what is trending (on the left side of the screen) and this morning I found that the #1 thing trending in the United States is #Twitter10k. Of course, I was curious at what it was about so I clicked it and when I found out what it was, I was shocked and upset.

What makes Twitter stand out against all the other social networks is the usage of the amount of characters that tweets are allowed: 140 characters. But with this #Twitter10k, it looks like Twitter is thinking about changing the amount form 140 to 10,000 characters. That's crazy!

140 characters = short, creativity, right to the point, etc.
10,000 characters = annoying essays

Can you imagine how long these tweets are going to get? We're going to start getting rants (which we do now but it's better in multiple tweets rather than one long tweet), essays about people's lives, we'll also get news reports (instead of links to news reports which will not help the journalists and news), etc.

There is going to be so much change and not for the better. It's going to ruin what Twitter is known for and a lot of people are no longer going to want to be on Twitter. I already see people saying that if this goes through, they're not going to be on that much longer. I agree. I don't know if I'll stick around if it's just essays and essays.

What tweeters (people who use Twitter) have been asking for is not extra characters but an edit button! Edit button would be more useful. There's always tweets that people want to change up their tweets because they accidentally wrote what they didn't want to but instead of editing, they have to delete the tweet and then rewrite another tweet. It's a hassle. Adding an edit button would be so much better than adding 10,000 characters.

I mean who comes up with these things? Do they not see what their customers are looking for? What the demand is? I sometimes don't get it.

When I clicked on the #Twitter10k trend and read through some of the tweets, I saw not one tweet that supports the possible new thing which really tells me, they didn't think it totally through and what tweeters want. 10,000 characters is just too much.

It won't help Twitter and it won't help the people who use Twitter. It may destroy different areas of news reporting because why would they need websites? If they can just post their reports on Twitter? (links are so much better because it works for Twitter and the news website). This will also bring more competition with Twitter because I guarantee you that once this changes happens, another social network will be set up and it'll have the limit characters usage that Twitter is thinking of getting rid of.

95% of the people don't want the 10k limit. So please Twitter, don't make this change. Listen to what people want. We want an edit button not extra characters. Rethink this, please.

Let me and Twitter know what you think about the possible new change by commenting below!

Writing and Music

"Music has the ability to move us—our
memories and our imaginations."
- Melissa Tydell

Hey Everyone!

For years, again, I have enjoyed writing and I have learned many things over those years. One of things that I have learned about my writing is that listening to music helps.

We're always taught in school to not listen to our iPods (or any music device) because it would be a "distraction" well what I've learned, it's the complete opposite. There's even been studies done where it shows that student have done better in their work (especially in math and science) because they were listening to music or taking part in music (instrument, singing, etc.).

I can definitely vouch for that because I remember there were times where I had trouble with a couple math problems or writing an essay, a song would pop in my head and then the answer came to me or words would just start coming to me. Even though I wasn't physically listening to the music, it helped. It helped a lot.

So why are we taking the arts (music and theater) away? Who knows? I guess it's just "easier" to just have the students grab the book and read. Well, that maybe be good and dandy but it doesn't always help. I found that I did better in classrooms where it wasn't always "by the book" and we were able to be individuals and actually have fun learning. Amazing isn't?

Well, I'm going off track here. This isn't about taking the arts away from schools. I'll write another post that focuses strictly on that, don't worry I will!

Now, going back to my main focus for this post: writing and music. How does music help me with my writing? How can it help you? Whether you're working on an academic paper, news articles, blog posts, creative writing (novels, short stories, scripts, etc.), and others, music will help.

So let's going into detail on how listening to music has helped me. Remember how I said that it would to believe that listening to music devices would be a "distraction" well have we ever thought that maybe that distraction could be a good thing? No. Well, I definitely have.

When I'm having trouble with staying focus on what I'm writing (getting distracted from the outside world: television, people moving around, etc.), I immediately grab my iPod and plug in my headphones and I'm no longer distracted by the outside world and I'm now in my own little world and then suddenly my fingers start typing.

I don't really have an explanation but it works. I always guess it's because I feel the music go through me and it suddenly clicks some ideas that are hidden somewhere it my head and let them out once the music starts playing. Like the quote at the top of this post, music brings out our memories and our imaginations which will help strengthen our own writing.

I remember one night, recently actually, I was having a hard time to focus on my manuscript that I'm currently working on and the moment I turned my music on, I was writing and then when it was time for me to actually stop and get ready for bed, I realized that I had five-ten pages done. Amazing, isn't it?

There is so much music does for us. It also depends on the type of music that you are listening to. I listen to almost everything but I found that the slow rhythm songs help me the most but I'm fine with the uptempo songs as well. It just depends on what works for YOU.

Now, how can music help you? Well, you can use my idea and just if you're struggling, plug in your music and start listening and see where that takes you. If that doesn't work, you can always try other ways: turn on the music and just listen for awhile, then start writing; read over something that you have already written and then turn on the music, read that same part over and see if you still feel the same about that part or if you think it needs more changing; or do anything with music and it'll help.

No matter what you choose to do with the music and your writing, it will help. If you find that music doesn't necessary help you either then that's ok as well. What works for one person doesn't have work for everyone and it doesn't.

I recommend you to check out the link above, where I found the quote, because it will give you another idea of music and writing, and inspiration.

I know that whatever I do and whatever I need, I'll always have music with me. Music will forever be a part of me and my writing (as I hope you will soon find out and if you do, remember this post).

I hope you that you will give music a try when you're writing or doing anything artsy really. And if you have any other suggestions or thoughts about how music has either helped or not helped you, please leave a comment below.

Should There be Fighting in Hockey?

Hey Everyone!

So as most of you know, there has been lots of worry and discussions about athletes' safety in the sports they play. One of the sports in the discussion is hockey and NHL has changed the way players do their fighting. Fighting. One of things that makes hockey stand out against the other sports (excluding WWE, UFC, boxing, or 2015-2016 season of football).

For years, fighting was a big thing in hockey bringing more intensity to the game. Now the big debate question is: Should there be fighting in hockey at all? My answer is: Yes.

Why?

Well, let's look at it this way - the intensity of the game is one of the things that make people watch. Intensity means how fast the players skate back and forth on the ice, when the players go against each other (fighting for the puck, hits, pushing, etc.), and the excitement they show when they score.

Fighting is a part of the intensity. What do you expect to happen when one of the players from the other team trips one of your teammates or boards them which can lead to an injury? Have they say "oh it's ok. You can do that to us." No, you expect them to stick up for themselves/teammates by showing they aren't going to let it continue happening which could lead a fight to breakout.

Am I showing support of fighting and violence? Absolutely not. But there is a time and place for everything and if the players don't fight on the ice when needed, when are they? Where are they going to take out their "anger"? Who knows?

Changing many different rules due to fighting could lead to other changes which can lead to a whole new sport without any intensity. What will it turn out to be? Players going back and forth to shoot the pucks in the goal? It could lead to boredom and less people interested in the sport.

But, to look in the other side of the argument - less fighting may bring more interest when there is a fight happening. Like take baseball fights for an example, they don't happen often but when they do - there's a lot of action going on and those videos get A LOT of views. So who knows? Less fighting may work in their favor??

Keeping fighting in the game lead to injury? Sure. Anything can lead to injury really. You could accidentally trip and injure your leg, arm, back, etc. You can't change the chance of injury. Someone is risked an injury at any point of the day of their lives.

What can be done to keep the intensity and fighting in the game (and not add more risk to injury)? Put a time limit on how long the players fight (if it's "real" one not a "planned" out one): Real meaning it happens right away and planned meaning drop the gloves and hold their hands up waiting to see who makes the first move (almost like boxing) (and they already put some type of time limit on those). If the fighting gets too out of hand, then immediately intervene (they do this now but it seems they get in too quickly).

Oh and another one would be for the athletes to be careful who they really piss off like an example, don't get on Jordin Tootoo's bad side.

This is one of Tootoo's recent fights against Brad Malone.
Credit: MSG+ and SomeHockeyVideos

I'm not an expert on fighting in hockey and I don't pretend to be one but I am a fan of the sport, and this post is my opinion of what I think should be done. (Again, I'm not supporting violence but I don't want to see the sport change drastically that it's no longer fun to watch.)

I'm sure there are those who disagree with my side of the debate and I'm gladly to hear those thoughts out, as well hear from anyone who has any other ideas on how to keep the intensity in the game without the extra risks of injury.

Sound off in the comments below with your thoughts!

Song of the Week - Week Three - See You Again

Hey Everyone!

Well, it's that time again for the new song of the week. I know you're probably wondering about move and show of the weeks but I haven't exactly picked one of those yet but don't worry! There will be a movie of the week and new show of the week at some point. It will happen.

So what is the song of the week? Well it is going to be one of the biggest songs of 2015 and that song is "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth.

As most of you know, the song was written for the movie, Furious 7, the latest movie in the Fast & Furious franchise and dedicated to one of stars of the films, Paul Walker who tragically passed away on November 30th, 2013.

If you don't know or don't remember what had happened, Paul Walker was a passenger in his friend's car as they were taking a quick ride after Paul was at a fundraiser for his Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW) Foundation and unfortunately they were in a car accident (due to speeding according to witnesses and investigation) and neither Paul or the driver, Roger Rodas made it.

Rest in Peace Paul Walker and Roger Rodas.

Now, going back to the song. "See You Again" was written dedicated to Paul Walker and his character in the franchise. They had to rewrite the ending the 7th film of the franchise to fit in an ending towards the character's story and they used this song to tell that story.

I have not seen any of the Fast & Furious films so I hadn't gone to see the Furious 7 one but I heard that the ending was well done and emotional. I don't want to ruin it if any of my readers haven't seen it and want to see it. I mean, you may tell what they did with the character just by watching the music video but I don't know if there was more or not.

Now, you're probably thinking "she's never seen any of the Fast & Furious movies? Then why is she writing this blog post?" I may have not seen the Furious movies but I was a fan of Paul Walker and this song is more than just the movie, the character, and the family behind the actors. Anyone can relate to the lyrics, to the beat, and to the message behind the song.

Anyone who has lost a loved one can relate to the song. It's about losing that person that you loved and there's a chance for you to see them again in another lifetime. It's encouraging for people to know that they will see the person they love again and this song makes it a little easier to "let go" of that person. It's emotional. It makes you feel happiness, sadness, and more.

And you can feel all those feelings in the music video for the song. You can feel the love for the character and Paul. But you can also make your own video in your head about the person you lost and loved. You can watch the video below by pressing the play button:

Credit to: Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth,
Furious 7, Director of music video, producers
of the film as well as video, and anyone
else involved with the making of the song and video.

I love this music video. Flashbacks (even though I've never seen the films, I know which ones they are), love between the characters, and then the ending was done so well.

Now, I'm not the only who loves this video. At the moment as I'm writing this, the video has about 1.30 billion views. Yes, I did say billion. It is currently sitting as the 3rd most watched YouTube video. First being "Gangnam Style" by Psy with more than two billion (only video with two billion) views and second being "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift with 1.37 billion views.

So, as you see this video has gotten lots and lots of views which is a great thing for a song because it's about time a meaningful song like this gets recognized. The song was also the first rap song to reach 1 billion views so it really has a meaning for lots of people (not just Fast & Furious fans).

The song is also still in the Top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 list which is also another great statistic. Let's keep it on the Hot 100 for another long time. What do you think? You can do that by watching the video as well. And how about we get "See You Again" to #1 on the most watched video?? All you have to do is watch the video and then continue to refresh it.

I have done the calculation and found that if the video continues to get 3 million views a day, it can take the top spot in about 390 days which may make it the quickest video to 2 billion views (will get it prior the 390 days, probably 310).

Now, you're probably wondering why I would care about the numbers and telling you these statistics. Well, it's because I think a song like this needs to continue getting the recognition that it deserves. There are many songs out there in the world in this generation that gets more recognition for reasons i don't understand and this one should be up there with them.

Show the people in the business that this is the type of music you want to hear (if you don't like rap, it doesn't have to include the rap - at least include the type of message it has).

So what do you think? Are you going to watch the video again? Make it one of those songs that needs to be on the radio (it still is but not as much) again? Want a song like this to be the top of the most watched video list? (Don't worry Psy, I like Gangnam Style. But don't you think it's time for new #1?)

Remember to show the people you love that you love and cherish them. Because you never know how much time you may have with them. That's another thing that this song and the way the Fast & Furious family reacted has taught us.

Love. Don't Rush. Remember. Enjoy Every Moment.

Until Next Time

Why Am I a Writer? Why Do I Want to be a Writer?

Hey Everyone!

I hope you're all having a great New Year's. Can you believe it? It's a new year. Welcome to 2016. To me, 2016 is going to be a big year. I don't know. I have a good feeling about this year and we'll see how that feeling goes as the year begins.

Now what is this post about? Well, I haven't exactly been the questions yet but I know they will come. So I thought why not answer the questions now. What questions? ----> Why am I a writer? Why do I want to be a writer?  (This blog post is only an introduction to the answers to the questions)

Those who are writers are always asked these questions. The question is why? Because many believe writing is so unbelievably hard, not interesting, time-consuming, etc. however, all of those believers are wrong because writing is more than "a job" and is fun to do, not hard at all.

Writing is not just what I do but it's also who I am and there are many reasons why I enjoy writing. For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed writing. I used to have notebooks full of different stories (some didn't make sense and some did) and in different types of writings: scripts, short stories, novels; and then in different genres: mystery, romance, young adult, etc.

Why am I a writer? Because I enjoy creating characters that deal with real life situations and have relatable characters who my readers can relate to. I like bringing words together to create a story. I also enjoy hearing feedback from my peers on what I write. There are different types of writings that I enjoy writing: blog posts, newsletter articles, novels, scripts, and more. It's not just one thing that I write, I write multiple and again, I enjoy bring the subject (characters) to the reader and have the readers interested in what I am writing.

Why do I want to be a writer? The same answers as to why I am a writer. But am I a "professional" yet? No (but you can still write without being a "professional"). I blog, I posted stories on fanfiction, I write stories, etc. I am working towards on being a writer (novelist/scriptwriter and official blogger [why I'm writing more posts than previous]) and again to create more needed characters that people are able to relate to (disabled characters, those who deal with grief, family situations, etc.).

There needs to be more writers who are comfortable with what they are writing. I am one of those writers and plan to continue on writing. As you may have read in my previous posts, you know that I am working on novels (I am currently working on a different one, one that I did my senior project on). Writing is again, who I am. I can't picture my life without writing.

Why are people writers? Because they feel their characters. Because they love words. Because they want to reach an audience in a different way. The list can go on and on as every writer is different and has their own reasons.

I have decided to create a section in my blog that will be strictly on writing (and reading). I will take what I have learned in my schooling (English-Writing major here) and show how much writing is important and also show that you don't have to be a writer to write. There is a lot to write about!

I hope you join me on this writing experience and maybe even start writing on your own (if you haven't already).

Let me know what your thoughts of writing is and if you will be on board with this writing section of my blog.

Until Next Time
